Thank you Sean for reminding us of this seeming obstacle of how. It is ego’s life long good friend helping to cover our awareness of the Truth 😊 So much habit so much conditioning around it and it’s very easily missed. This noticing offers a great relief. I am very grateful 🙏

It strikes me that so much of healthy spirituality rests on intention.

I’m so grateful for this insight into relationship. It fills in some gaps I’ve been longing for in understanding relationship and the call to be in this world. So profound. 🙏. This really touched something in me. I will start with, simply, “giving attention to what is given.“. Thank you for your caring, Sean.

You're welcome, Denise - thanks for being here and for reading & sharing. Giving attention is such a gentle simple practice - just noticing what is given. I'm still learning all it has to offer!

“How is helplessness”...my heart soared and I knew the truth of these words when they were first read, then ego/mind pounced and fear arose, but the fear was seen as foreign/learned which does not in any way diminish Truth/Peace. Your article helped me see/know/feel the magnificent beauty of living from "helplessness".

Then,....the following quote from ACIM came alive for me for the first time;

“Be still, and lay aside all thoughts of what you are and what God is; all concepts you have learned about the world; all images you hold about yourself. Empty your mind of everything it thinks is either true or false, or good or bad, of every thought it judges worthy, and all the ideas of which it is ashamed. Hold onto nothing Do not bring with you one thought the past has taught, nor one belief you ever learned before from anything. Forget this world, forget this course, and come with wholly empty hands unto your God.”

My favorite passage from the course!! Thanks for linking it back to Tara Singh's quote - I like that very much. As I mentioned in an earlier thread, we are hard-wired to solve problems - "how" is very much a human inquiry! But there is a way to be in relationship with uncertainty that allows us to be happy and at peace without needing the level of worry/fear/anxiety that typically attends uncertainty. Letting go in faith is such in integral part of that.

Thanks, Glenda - I hope all is well.

What a fantastic story you bring us here Sean, it is so powerful, the image of the children being suckled! And also that How-questions keep us away from the Kingdom of God. Often Course students ask ‘How can we make the Course practical?’ but asking also this How-question keeps the student away from doing what the Course says. In ‘Rules for decision’ it is said so wonderfully that: “²Today I will make no decisions by myself.

³This means that you are choosing not to be the judge of what to do. ⁴But it must also mean you will not judge the situations where you will be called upon to make response.’

[T-30.I.3:2-4]

This is what it means to give up the steering wheel and let us be guided. Holy Spirit knows about the HOW. And that is all we need. Thanks Sean, enjoyed your post a lot as always💕 Love, Valentine Laout

As a hurricane approaches, "how" and "why" float in and out of my mind. However, I am able to let it pass by and give attention to "what is given", at least in this present moment. More and more I trust that when I think He left...He did not! I cannot judge what is given so today I practice being a servant whose shared will is happiness and peace for all. Thank you Sean!

I find myself pondering the how all the time. It feels so unattainable at times. Thank you for sharing your thoughts, it is helpful.

I wondering what you think about the buzz around 5D ascension? I’m finding many synchronicities with the courses teachings, just worded a bit differently. Mainly, it’s a state of mind/being that’s already available to us we just need to turn our attention to it. Once enough people do, a shift occurs in consciousness and we start to live in higher frequency which then brings about other gifts that weren’t available to us in lower vibrational states etc. For me, what keeps coming to mind is “all paths lead home”. I find the course fits well with the new earth idea and many stewards of the idea speak similar points to Jesus in the course.

I think about "how" a lot as well. The human brain is designed to solve problems - asking questions and seeking solutions and then tweaking solutions to make them even better is inherent in our frame. What's tricky is noticing the cycle of problem --> solution --> problem and figuring out how to respond to it. How do we live without problems? Or, how do we live when our problem is we insist on having problems? For me ACIM has been valuable in terms of practically shifting my focus away from the cycle and towards the underlying problem - separation and the willingness to accept separation-related trauma.

I'm not familiar with 5D ascension. In general, it seems like consciousness is shared and so the clearer and more fluent we become with it, the benefits do spread out ripple-like, touching us as a collective. Which of course is very consistent with ACIM's concept of holy relationship and salvation.
