I believe Helen was channeled. I also believe that Jesus is the author. I came home from my first CIM meeting and told my husband that I found the answer to all of our unanswered questions and I had many. I couldn't get enough of it. You know the truth when you hear it. So eloquently written I am still in awe of it.

Great post Sean. I don't think I even knew or cared who wrote it or where it came from when I first read it, I just felt for the first time I was reading the Truth. And you know what, I still feel the same all these years on. Only now it is not simply that it makes perfect sense to me on an intellectual level I have experienced the truth of it over and over again at a heart level.

This is the point though isn't it, we need to experiment with it, we have to do the work, as it is only in experiencing of it that the validation comes. Over and over I get to experience the truth of it for real, and with each experience the Love gets deeper, stronger and truly known. And of course as we get results we practice it more and more, then we are opened to more Love, more Truth.

It is such a gift, just as you are, so thank you for sharing this post with us all. Much Love as Always Suzy.

Thank you, Suzy. It always makes me happy when you comment. Thank you for being here and sharing.

Yeah, I agree - who cares. And yet, in a way, even not caring is a kind of caring :) I think one of the emerging themes for me over the past couple of years in my ACIM study and practice is that the Course meets us where we are, generating just right the level of controversy and conflict that we need in order to learn - eventually, kicking and screaming sometimes - that we are doing this to our selves. Which is oddly hard to let go of!

And yet there is so much joy and peace as we do, as you point out.

Thank you again for being here, Suzy 🙏🙏

Love,

Sean

Oh yes indeed Sean, we do this unto ourselves for sure.

And I agree whole heartedly the Course, or we, do generate exactly what we need to guide us back to peace in every moment. In my case often kicking and screaming 😂.

I often think it is ridiculous that I would create such difficult scenarios for myself, but then of course I remember, it is my Self that is the constant pull of Love that is helping me to get Home, always.

Much Love as Always, Suzy 🙏 💕

Insightful. Seems true as with all we bring ourselves to Jesus. I see lots of projection.

Thanks, Cyndi. Yes, it is hard to be in relationship with Jesus without projecting; inevitably, the "Jesus" that is at the heart of our practice is deeply personal, and almost certainly far removed from the man so long ago. As always the work is to surrender the projection to the Holy Spirit for re-interpretation. It is an ongoing process :)

Thank you for being here and sharing. I am very grateful 🙏🙏

I don't care who wrote it,it's the truth. Like many others I've been searching with blinkers on, not knowing what I was searching for and with so many unformed questions and unanswered ones I was bewildered. Then the course came into my life, and it rescued me. Yes it rescued me. And thank you Sean for ironing out for me!us for that's what you do Sean

You're welcome, Sean. Yes - I appreciate that approach very much - what works, works. The Source or author is beside the point. We are here to heal.

Thank you Sean for a wonderful sharing . I believe Jesus is the Author of the Course.. I love the Course, Its honesty clarity precision completeness and aliveness. Even though sometimes I get very frustrated with It, even though sometimes I don’t want to believe in it I know somewhere deep inside it is true. Hence the deep relief, even though I seem to be kicking and screaming, dragging my feet most of the time 😊 I am grateful 🙏🙏

Thank you, Aysin. I, too, experience the Course as a gift which points towards Truth, and am deeply grateful. I truly believe the material meets us where we are and takes us exactly as far as we are ready, willing and able to go.

Thanks for reading and sharing - I am also grateful for the good company on this path 🙏🙏

A difficult and controversial question that confuses many. Sean gives keys to understand the question. No easy task. If we follow his reasoning the answer answers itself. He is a trustworthy teacher of ACIM. I've been reading his insightful understanding. As an ex Jesuit professor of philosophy for decades, and student of the Course, he is a serious teacher with a sense of humor and paradox that is enjoyable, as I believe Jesus do smile.

Who truly wrote any great works?

And again there to me it does not matter, did Shakespeare write those great works did he ever exist, did Jesus exist?

Don’t matter, nothing matters, for isn’t matter an illusion?

I used to question everything to such a degree that if there wasn’t enough proof I’d discard it…

But I’ve grown older n a little bit wiser, lol, and I still like what we say in AA, God as we understood it! Paraphrasing some…

Sean I have 2 of your books n I read them over n over, ty for your work on simplifying ACIM some for me at least🙏🌻

You're welcome John and thanks for being here & sharing. That's very much my thinking - the content is what matters, if anything does. Macbeth is a great play no matter who the author was, and ACIM is helpful, and helpful is the end of the inquiry. If it works, work it . . . To paraphrase a little more :)

Sean

I have imagined ACIM was not written by any individual, but by and from the point of view of any enlightened, fully awakened being…an amalgamation of soul(s)...More specifically, a modern voice that used organized Christianity as a foil. I guess what I mean is, Buddha didn't write The Course, but I know he would be down with it.
