Thank you, Sean.

Yet another piece of a very helpful and beautiful summary of what means to be a Course student. I recently have been reminded of Ken Wapnickโ€™s teaching ( Arch of Forgiveness) that every morning, imagine myself coming to Jesusโ€™ classroom. My life is curriculum. I make mistakes yes, as I imagine myself as a little child in the classroom, it becomes easier to surrender my errors to My Teacher Jesus instead of feeling guilty or powerless to correct. Of course, It doesnโ€™t always go as smoothly as it sounds ๐Ÿ˜Šstill it is very helpful when I remember to use it and I am aware that it needs practicing.

Much gratitude

Thanks, Aysin. Yes - that is a lovely suggestion by Ken. I cut this paragraph from the post but I think of Jesus as a kind of big brother role model for how to do this stuff - both how to listen to the Holy Spirit but also clarifying what it looks like when we DO listen and follow the Holy Spirit's suggestions. In that sense, working closely with Jesus as a Teacher is a beautiful and helpful practice. Ken was very good on that point! And "Arch of Forgiveness" is a good read. Thanks for reminding me of it.

And thanks for reading and sharing! I'm grateful as well!

Thank you, Sean for this truly loving post. As a past Catholic, I can say this lesson was taught in a much less gentle way. It has not been easy to NOT envision God or Jesus or angels with "scorecards" while I go through my day. I am getting better at reminding myself when I start to feel the bristling from an encounter, that this is Christ before me. When I "fail", I turn to God and Jesus and just talk and listen-not to justify my actions but rather to ask for help back onto the path. Very often, these "conversations" are short and I feel renewed, and ask for "another chance", which do happen-whether the same person, or different person, similar situation.

Thanks for sharing, Fran. Yes - those Catholic vibes can be hard to shake. Jesus/God/the Holy Spirit - all of them judging, all of them critical, all of them tsk-tsking. Or worse. There is a lot of love in that tradition - letting go and moving on was not easy, and in some senses I'll never FULLY let go - but that harsh parent judgment energy was really painful. I am very grateful to the Course which as slowly and relatively gently shifted my thinking and practice towards a more loving and helpful stance.

I like very much the request for another chance. In my experience, there is nothing Jesus and the Holy Spirit like more than offering it to us. We are all finding our way.

Thanks again for reading and sharing.

Love,

Sean

It's good to hear from you Sean. I hope all is well. I like the map analogy too. Feel like I spend way too long - and can still fall into - studying the wrong map and just refusing to trade it for one that works. I'm glad you're here.

Love,

Sean
