Reading the words " salvation is awkward and clumsy" opened my heart with kindness toward myself. I am my worst critic, I think " I should be doing it the right way"...such suffering comes from that belief. As always Sean, thank you for your love of Truth and sharings. 🙏
You're welcome, Glenda, and I absolutely identify with being one's own worst critic. There is nothing quite as aggressive and mean as an ego that wants to take us down a notch or two. Remembering that salvation is ordinary and full of missteps - kind of like how I dance :) - can be very helpful. Thank you for being here and sharing, Glenda.
You're welcome, Jenine! I'm glad we are able to connect as well. We are all in this together. I hope your ACIM study & practice serves you well - it's a strange road sometimes but I am deeply grateful for it. Thanks for being here.
“They were kind to the stranger because Jesus taught them to be kind to everyone. When we do that, everyone becomes Jesus or, better, becomes our brother and sister in whom we recognize the self we share with God.” Wonderful. Thank you for sharing this
What Jesus teaches us about relationships is só fantastic. And indeed sometimes we are still a bit clumsy. And you are so right that it is NOT about us, personally, it is about all of us together. Because only together we can truly heal and go Home, the Home we never left. My heart is filled up with love every day because the path of ACIM and then a story like this just makes me even more grateful for this path. It makes me feel lighter everyday, even tough I can also be clumsy myself, or fall back into believing the ego. But then Jesus has my back and friends on this path have my back, and I can let go of another ego layer. Just one step at a time...we will get there together indeed. Thanks Sean, you are a very inspirational writer and reading this brings a big smile on my face! I recognize you my brother!🧡 Love, Valentine Laout
Thank you, Valentine. Seeing and recognizing one another as spiritual family has been a true gift of the course. I'm grateful indeed. Thank you for being here and for sharing your light.
The Road to Emmaus is a blessed passage I have held dearly. Your clear joining of experience to our study of the ACIM has brought so much understanding to the road we are all journeying on together. Now I envision the added joy of dancing 💃🏽. I look forward every week for your letter and I am very grateful to you Sean 🙏 thank you ❣️
You're welcome, Janice - I'm grateful to you as well and glad we are able to share this path. Yeah, dancing is the metaphor lately - it's resonating for me for a lot of reasons. And the road to Emmaus is probably my favorite passage of the new testament - it is so instructive, so practical, and so full of promise. I always feel a little lifted when I reflect on it.
Thank you for reaffirming that it is also impossible to “stumble” alone. Even with the pain of regretting or rejecting, I will remember that Jesus is in us and healing us, never to harm me or my brother. This is comforting. Thank you Sean.
You're welcome, Yihsing! Yes this has become so central to my understanding and practice of the course. We are in this together, no matter how alone we feel. Love admits no exceptions, even if it's hard to remember that, feel that, et cetera. Healing is inevitable. Thank you for being here, Yihsing. I'm very grateful.
It is beautiful that everything is a lesson God would have us learn. I am often guided to do things which feel awkward, but when I let go of my own opinions and preferences of how things should look like, the result is always a release, a healing. My Inner Guide truly guides me to greater happiness. Thank You, Jesus!
