Thank you for sharing, Yvonne. The sexist languag of A Course in Miracles - and the conviction with which certain well-known teachers defended it - is problematic. I agree with this. I also think that an emerging model for God is more likely feminine than male. I have written about that here:
In either case, a language which deliberately excludes our brothers and sisters is not loving. Reframing those symbols in ways which are more personally lovingly resonant is healing work.
At some level, gender does seem to matter less with respect to the spiritual inquiry and what is discovered in response to the inquiry. I try to write about that (more obliquely) here:
