Does the Course ever mention the experience of feeling you are God, or one with God?

Very early in the text the Course talks about "revelation," in which God reveals to those who are separated, the oneness that makes clear separation is an error in thinking that confounds our natural identity as Love Itself.

"Revelation induces complete but temporary suspension of doubt and fear. It reflects the original form of communication between God and His creations . . . Revelation unites you directly with God" (T-1.II.1:1-2, 5).

Critically, this is NOT the overarching goal of studying and practicing A Course in Miracles. The overarching goal is to become adept at miracle-minded thinking, which unites us directly with our brothers and sisters (broadly defined to include sunflowers, whales, mountains and moonlight) (T-1.II.1:6).

That is to say, our oneness with God is a matter of truth, and our work is to undo the fabrications (fantasies, lies, biases, denials, projections etc) that obscure that Truth. And the way we do this is through forgiveness, which is both an understanding AND an application of that understanding.

A Course in Miracles teaches us how to reinterpret separation so that it becomes a symbol of oneness, in which "Sean" and "Sydney" and "sunflower" and "sea" are all undone as if they never existed in the first place.

Love,

Sean

Sean these last two posts were good, for me at least. I do slip or fall into the ditch as Paul put it,and then you come along and pull me out. I thought the photo of the potatoes was good not one the same size or shape, not one comparing itself to the other's as I have been doing most of my life and can still do. But your posts restore me im grateful for you

Thanks, Sean. I'm grateful for you as well . . . Yeah, digging potatoes is one of the joys of my life, I don't know why. Thank you for illuminating something beautiful about them that I had not considered - the potato itself, differing in form from the others, but not evaluating itself BASED on those differences. Simple on the one hand, but profoundly clear to the point of holiness on the other. Thanks, Sean . . . hope all is well . . .
