Oh, I love this, Sean, particularly from William Blake to the end.

It makes me think that when I resist anything that happens in the classroom of this life, it's as if I'm six years old and refusing to do what my teacher asks: "Nancy, tell us, what is two plus two?" And I scowl and cross my arms across my pinafore and stomp my foot and yell, "NO!I I WON'T, AND YOU CAN'T MAKE ME!" And so the next year I get put back in that class, and again I'm given a chance and again I yell, "NO!" And that maybe goes on through endless imaginary Kindergartens until Jesus gently says, "Want to give this another try?" And I finally say, "Four?"

Thank you for writing.

Thank you, Nancy. Yes, I am that student as well. So much of our so-called trouble comes down to this petulant insistence that we know better than God or Love, and it seems like it should be such an easy lesson to learn and yet on and on we go . . . I guess it's good that the stubborn ones have a place in Heaven too :) Thanks for being here, Nancy. I hope all is well.

Thanks for writing this article Sean. I have been confused by the concept of levels in the course and your thoughts have helped explain it for me.

I may not comment often but I read your postings every week and get a lot out of them.

Your efforts are greatly appreciated.

thank-you for reminding me that we have to reframe grieveneces with the lessons of ACIM and also with the help of the holy spirit. I keep forgetting to 'turn the other cheek' when in body/mind conflicts! Thanks for posting!

Sean I love this because I’m in a situation where unconditional love is being needed, and I’m growing into it because I’m now a full time carer for my wife who has dementia. I’m being taught the course, on the battlefield. There is no escape from truth. Truth is I’m blessed with this and I’m seeing everything is a blessing as in all things are lessons god would have us learn. Seeing this I can now say four. Thank you Sean.

Thanks for being here, Sean. I'm sorry to hear that your wife's condition is worsening but I deeply admire your capacity for caring and loving her AND for connecting it all to growing into God's Love for all of us. I know it's hard and I don't mean to minimize that but I am grateful to you for the example of love and kindness you are demonstrating.

This focus on “level confusion” is so helpful and clarifying. I’m so happy to be introduced to the William Blake poem. The paragraph that begins “ The course invites us to reframe those conflicts.” opened my eyes… “They are not problems to be solved by us but lessons to be taught to us by the Holy Spirit - lessons in letting go, in seeing the illusion of control, in loving ourselves and others, and in co-creating a just and happy world that excludes no body and no thing.”. It helps me in my wrestle with the ego when it seemingly attempts to “do good”.

Thanks for reading, Denise. Yeah, in a lot of ways William Blake is an early ACIM student. Very interesting thinker for a lot of the ideas and work we do. And yes - that frame of seeing things as the Holy Spirit does - chances to learn again what we have struggled with to date - can be a real game changer, easing us out of the "I have to do something important/helpful/etc right now!" space and into something gentler and slower and more likely to open our hearts and minds. Not an easy transition but a good one!

Thanks for being here, Denise.

Thank you for this (and your posts generally). This one just got me to where I needed to focus at this moment. I’m really new to the study & level confusion is so confusing I’ve put it down-by for the now. But this has helped. Most especially “they’re not problems to be solved - but lessons to be learned” (excuse the paraphrase 🥲). From the misty Highlands of Scotland- thank you ☺️

Alright - the misty highlands! Had a lot of fun walking out there many many years ago, lugging my guitar :)

I'm glad the post was helpful - I think the whole level confusion thing is confusing as a concept but also in application. For me, understanding and application have evolved in time. But I am a slowe learning!

Thanks for reading and being here, Deborah.
